What is pH anyway?

pH stands for "potential of hydrogen".  It is the pH level that determines whether a substate is acid or alkaline or a neutral pH.  The pH level is a gauge of the balance between alkaline OH- ions and acidic H+ ions.

The acidic hydrogen (H+) ions have a positive charge and are missing an electron.  It is this missing electron that makes the ion an evasive free radical.  On the other hand, the alkaline hydroxyl ions (OH-) have a negative charge and carry an extra electron.  This extra electron is the primary anti-oxidant property to alkaline ionized water, as this extra electron can be freely shared with free radicals.  The OH- ions in alkaline ionized water are what carry teh life supporting and enhancing properties.

The OH- ions in alkaline water are actually a form or source of oxygen.  These hydroxyl ions are stable as they are bonded with a alkaline mineral such as calcium.  When two of these ions combine a molecule of water is generated.  And out of that, you get the mineral, and a pure molecule of oxygen.

These three substances, water, oxygen and alkaline ionic minerals are essential for your body.  A good source of these basic nutrients and be achieved from the use of an ionized water machine.

Clean Water (pH of 7.0+-)

Alkaline Water (pH 8.0-9.5)
Alkaline water can affect a significant reduction on oxidation in your body.  This healthy alkaline water is the best for drinking, preparing tea and other drink.  And can also be used for cooking.

It is accepted that active oxygen (free radicals) are a cause of many illnesses.  The strong NEGATIVE oxidation reduction potential (ORP) of alkaline water can help to remove these harmful free radicals.  Adding alkaline ionized water to your diet can be a positive step in helping to reduce the free radical and toxic acid build up in your system.

It should be noted that most bottled waters found at the supermarket have a positive ORP, and are thus, not good for drinking.

Strong Alkaline Water (pH 11 and up)
This strong alkaline water is not necessarily good for drinking.  In fact, it will taste salty.  This water is good for washing meat, fish and vegetable.  You can also use it for general cleaning, because a high pH makes for a good detergent.  Use strong alkaline water to clean stove tops, knives and dishware, and cutting boards.  You can also use strong alkaline water to wash difficult stains in the bathroom.

Acid Water (pH 5.5-6.5)
This slightly acid water can be used as a skin lotion.  This water will tone and firm your skin.  It acts as an astringent.

Very Acidic Water (pH 2.7 or less)
Use strong acidic water for sanitation.  You can wash hands, and sterilize kitchenware.  Strong acidic water is used in restaurants, and hospitals.  The Enagic LeveLuk Super 501 water ionizer is particularly suited for this job.
